The steaks were high..

July 31, 2012

With Junior having a sleepover at his Grandparents last Saturday night, Mr.GS and I decided to go out on a wee date night and decided to use the voucher for James Street South Bar & Grill, which we had received from a lovely friend for our wedding, to enjoy a rare night out alone. We’re big fans of BBC2’s cooking show ‘Great British Menu’ where chefs from all regions of the UK compete to see who will cook for banquets for high profile guests. So, the fact that NI winner Niall McKenna was very visible in the dining area throughout our whole meal during our visit to James Street South Bar & Grill meant that this review was always going to be positive….

I realised this week that has been about a year since I first went to a Tribal Fitness Bootcamp session. I had been looking online to find out some activities to do with my newborn baby (he was about 5 weeks old at the time) and came across details of the outdoor Pramtastic Bootcamp which is aimed at postnatal women. Not only did it sound perfect for me as I was dying to get out of the house and start dropping the baby weight, but I could bring R along with me in the pram which negated the need to get a babysitter every week. A Wedding Less Ordinary

July 17, 2012

So, it went a bit like this. Girl meets boy in 2000, in a Belfast den of debauchery known as Vicos. Girl and boy hit it off and are soon joined at the hip. He is tall, dark, handsome and into football. She is shorter, loves films and has had many hair colours. They both love music. Fast forward to October 2011. They are living in their beautiful house and have a completely awesome son called Rudy, who was born on 3rd June 2011. On the girls 31st birthday an engagement ring is produced and they decide to make this thing offical, get hitched and throw in a naming ceremony for Rudy for good measure. They wanted a big party, a relaxed atmosphere and all the people they love celebrating with them and having a fabulous time.

A Brave New World

July 15, 2012

So, here I am. I’ve started a blog. Partly because I need to learn how to use one for work, and partly because I’ve wanted to do it for a while now but have been too busy having a baby, finishing a degree and getting married to seriously think about it. I’ve no idea what I will be blogging about yet but I am sure it will contain posts on parenting, music, gigs, films, restaurant reviews and general life in Belfast. It’ll not set the world on fire but if I bore you, feel free to move along.
